Press release Rapid.Tech 3D 2024

More attention for science and research

Scientific presentations submitted for the 20th edition of Rapid.Tech 3D benefit from new international publication channels. Submissions are now open for Rapid.Tech 3D 2024. Two new renowned publication partners.

Submissions are now open for Rapid.Tech 3D 2024. Two new renowned publication partners – Springer Nature’s ‘Progress in Additive Manufacturing’ and RTe Journal – are now on board. Scientists can also apply for a slot in the conference programme by entering a scientific paper. The 20th edition of Rapid.Tech 3D will be held from 14 to 16 May 2024 at Messe Erfurt, bringing together business and science at the AM conference.

Additive manufacturing (AM) has gained a firm foothold in industry. What used to be isolated 3D printing solutions are increasingly becoming end-to-end integrated approaches that join up all the links in the value chain, from design to final product, and make an important contribution to resilient and sustainable supply chains. The high-calibre specialist AM conference will remain the heart of the next Rapid.Tech event, which is set to mark its twentieth year, and focuses on profound professional exchange among users from science, research and business. For the ninth time, the AM Science forum will provide quality-assured information on new findings and scientific progress (presentations undergo a double-blind review) and examine all topics relating to the additive manufacturing process chain.

“The advisory board is delighted not only to provide a stage for the latest scientific findings on all three days of next year’s conference, but to significantly extend its reach for the submission of scientific papers, thanks to two new publication partners: Springer Nature and RTe Journal. The new open access publication channels enhance the appeal of submitting papers to the Rapid.Tech 3D science forum,ˮ reports Prof. Christian Seidel from the Fraunhofer Institute for Casting, Composite and Processing Technology (IGCV),
Munich University of Applied Sciences, and Chairman of the Rapid.Tech 3D Advisory Board.

Submitted papers undergo a double-blind review by renowned AM experts from the Scientific Review Committee, led by Dr. Stefan Kleszczynski, Chair of Manufacturing Technology at the University of Duisburg-Essen. “In addition to the review process itself, I and my colleagues will also refer the accepted papers to our partner journals Springer Nature ‘Progress in Additive Manufacturing’ (PIAM) and RTe Journal. The combination of these two publication channels enables us to offer a platform for both application-oriented and basic-oriented research work, and thus to strengthen the transfer of knowledge to the professional sphere in question. Papers for Rapid.Tech 3D 2024 can be submitted until 31 December 2023,” explains Dr. Kleszczynski.

All information on the submission process, the general guidelines and the submission template can be found on the Rapid.Tech 3D website (https://www.rapidtech-3d.com/specialist-congress/forum-am-science/). Applicants can upload information and their paper directly via the online form.

Prof. Dr. Sebastian Bremen from FA Aachen – University of Applied Sciences: “As an open access journal for articles with a focus on additive or digital manufacturing techniques, RTe Journal is pleased to be one of the new publication partners for scientific contributions. I will be working as a reviewer myself and am curious to see what diverse submissions will make their way to us by the end of the year.”

Thanks to the commitment of our experts from the advisory board, the conference brand will enjoy added weight at the anniversary event in 2024. In addition to the high-quality science track, it also offers a whole range of user forums on successful AM use cases.
