AI-based defect detection for LPBF

FRAUNHOFER ILT gives an insight into the methods of LPBF quality assurance. A new method for defect detection in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) is also presented.

In this presentation, the audience will gain an insight into the methods of LPBF quality assurance. In addition, a new method for defect detection in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) will be presented, which uses a high-resolution line scan camera and a pre-trained Deep Convolutional Neural Network.
